Some fabrics like pique which is a textured knit often used for polo style shirts will be even more challenging for small lettering. If the fabric is pique you will need to encourage the customer to choose lettering that is larger or another trick is to create a light fill that will stitch in the same color as the shirt behind the lettering. This gives a smoother foundation for the lettering to stitch upon and if the thread matches the color of the shirt will be less noticeable.
